About Twenty10

Twenty10 is a community based, NSW state-wide service that provides and promotes services for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, same-sex attracted and gender diverse young people. We provide case-management, counselling, medium-term accommodation, group programs and training. We also have a drop in centre in Newtown (Mon–Fri 10am–5:30pm and Sat 12pm–4pm) at the address above.

Mardi Gras Youth Festival 2009 – Event Info

21Down is back! Hosted by Courney Act, this free event is a chance for anyone under 21 to get together and mingle with prominent community members, performers and celebrities. Come along and have a great time at one of Sydney's hottest gay venues. No-one will get a handover from this drug and alocohol free event.

21Down is brought to you by Same Same, Bitch, Courtney Act and ACON's Fun & Esteem and Young Women's Projects.

Arty Tarty Tea Party

Arty Tarty Tea Party offers a delicious selection of visual and culinary delights to fulfill your every desire. Join the Young Women’s Project for an afternoon of high tea, provocative performances, tarty art, cute cupcakes and other delicious morsels! The event will showcase sexy submissions in an erotic art competition for young queer women. Entries in the competition will be judged on the night by a panel of erotica aficionados and winners will be featured in an upcoming sexual health resource.

Historical and Modern Curiosities

Ever wondered why Oxford St is the best known gay and lesbian precinct in Australia? Want to get all the goss on the history of this world renowned area? Come along and learn about some of the events that have shaped our community, from the quirky to the momentous, with a local historian and like-minded young queers aged 26 and under. This event is drug and alcohol free and lunch will be provided.

Fun & Games in Hornsby

Growing up Queer in My Culture

Growing up is unique for everyone. Do different cultural backgrounds view being queer differently? When you are culturally and linguistically diverse do you find it easier or harder to come out and be open about your sexuality and cultural background? Come, listen and ask questions to guest speakers who will share their own experiences.

Late Nite Shopping

From drag acts to 80’s dance routines, performance poetry to roller skates: Late Nite Shopping is an event for all young people to put on their sparkly leggings and dust-off their old hula hoop tricks. If you are under 25, this is your chance to perform – something with glitz, something with guts or something with gaffa tape! Develop a three minute act or simply come and enjoy the spectacle! Shop till you drop at Late Nite Shopping!

Parra-Normal

Participants on this ghostly tour will visit the darker side of historic Parramatta, visiting the sites of crimes, the gallows, haunting and murder. This tour is a chance to discover what we have always known… Parramatta is anything but normal! This event is open to queer young people under 25 (friends and zombies welcome). Supper is provided at the end of the tour. Bookings are essential as seating is limited.

Youth Gender Fair

An event for young people (25 years and under) who may be questioning their gender or identify as transgender, gender variant, gender-queer, gender players or gender explorers. The Fair will also launch Twenty10’s new group ‘GenderQ’. Lunch will be provided.
